He traces the presence of Africans in Florida from Spain's early attempts to build an American empire, long before the institution of slavery was introduced. Rivers also examines the Seminole wars' effects on slavery in Florida and the presence in Florida of armed black slaves and ex-slaves, because the state was a haven for runaway slaves from Georgia and the Carolinas. The greater social and economic freedom born of Spanish influence and close relationships between rebellious blacks and Seminoles set the stage for the largest slave rebellion in U.S. history. An excellent study of slavery in Florida, from the early days of the colonies to the 1865 Emancipation. If you are a living historian in Florida for that period, as I am, you should read this book to enhance your first and third person historical impressions.If your interest is slavery in general in America during that period, this book details how slavery in Florida was the same as, and also very different, from other states.I would elaborate, but other reviews on Amazon better state the excellence of this study.

I found this book, Slavery In Florida: Territorial Days To Emancipation, to be a deeply researched, beautifully written, and well grounded book on the peculiar institution in Florida from 1821 to 1865. This study presents the story of slavery from both the perspective of the bond servant and the master. The book covers every aspect of slavery in Florida. Among the chapters are those that focus on the slave family, religion and community, physical treatment of bond servants, slave resistance, and the participation of enslaved blacks in the Civil War. Rivers presents an engaging analysis of race relations during the territorial and statehood periods in Florida. Particulary, he discusses the relationship between enslaved blacks, Native Americans, and whites in an even-handed yet critical manner.Readers will find the voices of slave men, women, and children throughout this study. Rivers used the Federal Writers Project WPA interviews of former slaves as well as other newspaper interviews with former bond servants to described "what slavery was like" in Florida from the viewpoint of the enslaved black. From the extensive endnotes, the author apparently used hundreds if not thousands of probate records, appraisals, and inventories to describe the slave family. Given the cruelty of slavery, Rivers argues that enslaved blacks were still able to carve out some semblance of family, connected with generations of kinfolk. Rivers presents convincing evidence that bond servants were far from being passive victims. They were sometimes successful in getting concessions from masters concerning family matters, work routines, and religious worship.Some readers might find insightful Rivers' suggestion that the largest slave rebellion in the antebellum South was not the Nat Turner insurrection, but the Second Seminole War (1835-1842), where the majority of the warriors consisted of runaway slaves from Florida and state to the north. Apparently this is what General Thomas Jesup thought when he declared this battle to be "a negro and not an Indian War" (p. 204).In describing enslaved blacks and whites, Rivers further gives a balanced assessment of the human frailties as well as strenghts of both groups. I found this refreshing since most studies paint all whites as the bad guys and all blacks without a blemish.Anyone knowledgeable of the historiography of the antebellum South will quickly notice that Rivers includes the latest scholarship on slavery. As an avid reader of books on slavery, this is, in fact, one of the best books I have read on the topic in years. It should serve as a model for other state studies. I hope someone will read Rivers' book and use it as a guide to do a study of antebellum slavery in my state of Delaware (which has yet to be done). Slavery In Florida is a gripping read, and I give it five stars.

I am a law school student and I have to say How to WIN Your Case in Traffic Court Without a Lawyer by: Janet Traken is an informative book and is very well organized. Mrs. Traken spends a good part of just trying to make the reader familiar with how the legal system works at the informal traffic court level. I believe this a very good thing to do because most people feel nervous and apprehensive about being in front of a judge and therefore are more likely to make mistakes. By familiarizing the reader with the process they not only become more aware of their rights but significantly more comfortable exercising them. How to Win Your Case in Traffic Court spends a considerable time discussing the various methods police use to catch speeders although I am not sure how many of them are still used. I believe all of the police in my state almost exclusively use radar or lidar and do not use techniques like pacing or estimated guessing. Readers should know this book does not actually discuss case law to be used in your defense but lays out the methods for someone who has not had legal training. Overall, the book serves its purpose very well and includes all of the details to make someone comfortable exercising their legal rights in court.

When I first got this book to review I immediately looked for the bio of the author. I was surprised to see that the author, Janet Traken, is a freelance writer and there was no indication of experience or knowledge of the law. This to me indicated lack of credibility and I went on to reading the book with reluctance.The first chapter of the book suggests writing down the incident and this is of utmost importance. If you do go to traffic court it's very possible it will several months after the incident and much will happen during that time. Our memories can hold just so much and by reading notes it will bring back more memories of the incident.As I perused the book further I came upon explanations of possible ticketing: Improper Passing, Seatbelt Violations, Speeding, Open Container, etc. The chapter titled "Do You Need a Lawyer" was interesting and certainly would help you decide whether you want to hire a lawyer or attempt to win the case yourself. Another important chapter is "Preparing for the Trial Step One: Gathering and Analyzing Evidence."By the time I got finished reading this book I felt I was more informed than before and do have knowledge in the event I have a traffic violation. I believe the Traken researched the topic well enough to give us the basics and a platform of where to start. This book will certainly help you decide what direction you want to pursue your violation and whether or not it's worth the time and effort to fight it or pay the fine. It's a decision only you can make and I believe gaining the knowledge from what Taken has written will make you wise enough to make the decision.

I believe I bought Chinese Village Cookbook when it was published (1975) and for 20 years it was probably the most used cookbook in my collection. Not only is it delightfully written, but the recipes taste like really good Chinese food but without the 50 ingredients and hours of prep. When my (blessedly former) husband and I split he agreed to send me my cookbooks after our house sold. Instead, he chose to take them to the dump. (his story) I was irritated, if not surprised by his behavior primarily because I thought I would never find a copy of this book again.I'd forgotten the title, but remembered it was green with a little house on the cover. Though I've order slews of stuff from Amazon over the years it never occurred to me that I might find the obscure little green Chinese cook book if I tried. Finally, two decades later, I entered "Chinese cook book" in search, poured through the listings, and there it was[!!!!!!]. I couldn't order it fast enough. It's just as excellent as I remembered and I'm so happy to know its author, Rhoda Yee, is still alive and well and cooking up a storm in the San Francisco area. (and has written more books. . .must get them all...)

Just received the book today, and although I haven't tried the recipes yet, just looking at the names of the recipes, they're almost all for foods my mom used to make when my siblings and I were growing up! Ultimate comfort foods, including Jook, Steamed Minced Pork with Water Chestnuts, Steamed Eggs, Parchment Chicken, Fuzzy Melon Soup, Winter Melon Soup, Steamed Spareribs in Black Bean Sauce and Lo Han Jai. Excited to try these recipes out!

I'm getting practical with my choices for Asian cookbooks, and I really want more REAL recipes, especially from those who still remember (at the time of the original publication, that is) what it was like to live in Mainland China. And I really like the rustic nature of these recipes as well as the history remembered. Okay, this has one of the best egg fu yung recipes I've found. Well, no restaurant around here seems to even remember what that is!The photos are fab. I really LOVE the one of the village tea house with the hens roosted just under the roof! That alone and the story behind it was worth the book itself!

The recipes are authentic. The tastes are great and the recipes are generally easy to follow. If I wanted to be critical, I'd say I don't need the basic cooking techniques nor the ingredient descriptions. But being Cantonese (born is the US) I've been around Cantonese cooking all my life. So I can understand these chapters are important to those not born into a Cantonese family. I just bought my third copy recently. My first one was given to me in the 70's which disappeared. I bought a second one and again it disappeared... I think members in my family must have been "borrowing" mine... So, now I'm on my 3rd one...

Mom took cooking lessons from Rhoda Yee many years ago. She lived in our neighborhood. I grew up eating the very best Chinese food that my Mother, from Nashville, TN, learned to cook from Rhoda. Wonderful memories and very easy to follow...recipes are delicious and the best!!

Cute book from 1975. My boyfriend is Cantonese and I am always trying to find ways to make him feel at home. This book is simple and to the point. Most things you can find at the local market and no need to go to an Asian one. Some do require that but most do not.

With all of the books popping up trying to create fusians of every type of food on this planet, it is really nice to get back to basics, and Rhoda Yee's books are just that, basic traditional chinese cuisine. I am very happy that I purchased this book, now I can make a dinner for the entire family myself. Isn't cooking so much more personal and better for you? This book nicely compliments her Dim Sum book. There are soup recipes, rice and noodle recipes, chicken, beef and Pork recipes and a few vegetarian dishes. This is a really nicely rounded book. Not too much of one thing.

I love Chinese food and this book was chock full of delicious recipes! I have prepared several recipes already for friends and they absolutely loved the outcome.

For those of you not interested in reading a novel before you read a novel, I suggest you skip to the last paragraph for the Cliffs Notes version of my review. For those of you who wish to know how it's possible that one book can forever change the lens through which you view the genre of fantasy and the metric and standard through which you measure it, read on.Seldom do I ever feel compelled to write a review. In fact, this is (I believe) my first review on Goodreads. But every so often in life, you have the fortune to come across a work so artfully, skillfully and carefully crafted that it can only have been created by someone who has found what they were born to do as an artist. That is precisely what I found in Jonathan Renshaw's "Dawn of Wonder," and never before have I been so grateful for deciding to give a name I hadn't heard before a chance.From start to finish, the story's slow-burn development builds a perfect level of mysticism behind the all too real moments. Make no mistake, this is NOT high fantasy and it would be an unfair mischaracterization to relegate it to the category of epic fantasy. For a world where impossible things can and do happen, this is absolutely as real as it gets.Renshaw explores some of the most difficult subjects I've ever seen an author attempt to address in the fantasy genre. Childhood trauma manifesting in present-day paralyzing fear, a broken home, domestic violence, loss of innocence, and loss of loved ones are just of some of the adversities faced by young Aedan in this novel. This is not, however, your typical coming-of-age story arc. It is instead a daring exploration of the child psyche, somehow, often remarkably, capturing precisely the thoughts and sentiments of a boy of Aedan's age. Were a boy gifted Renshaw's incredible ability to convey emotion and thought, I imagine the result would be strikingly similar to the almost impossibly accurate articulations found in "Dawn of Wonder." I imagine that this novel could only have been written by someone that either personally experienced childhood trauma or has intimate familiarity with someone who has. If this is indeed the case, Renshaw's attempt to convey the reality of those traumatic instances should be lauded for shining such a light in to a genre often defined by the superfluous and superficial, and he has my sympathy for what he experienced.Lest anyone balk at the prospect of facing such realism in a genre many of us seek for the very purpose of escaping our daily reality-laden drudgery, I implore you for a moment to remember what it was to be child. Just as our fears were made exponentially more terrifying and just as our losses and failures were so keenly exacerbated by our lack of maturity, so too were our feelings of triumph, simple joy and wonder made boundless and larger than life by the creativity and impossible (yet no less real in our thoughts) beliefs we allowed our minds to indulge in.In this sense, the title "Dawn of Wonder" could not have been more aptly chosen. The experiences we're privileged to witness through the lens of Aedan's young mind allow our own minds to harken back to those days where it was possible to find a pirate's treasure in your own backyard, and when our worlds were so black and white that we believed our feelings on certain subjects would forever be set in stone. But just as we stood by and watched that black and white blend in to an amorphous gray in our lives, so too do we witness how the forges that are maturity and knowledge temper and challenge everything Aedan once believed defined him.Despite this lengthy (and frankly somewhat pretentious) review, I have only addressed the skill and care through which the story is told and not the story itself. With regard to the plot, once again, the title "Dawn of Wonder" is an apt description of the developments over the course of the novel. Aedan's own maturation, and consequently the loss of his idealism and the birth of his realism, stands in stark juxtaposition to the mysterious and wonderful elements building behind the scenes.It is these very elements that permit the book to be characterized as fantasy, but this is not a farm boy leaving home to fulfill an impossibly important destiny through the use of magic blades and dragons. Instead, the careful manner in which Renshaw applies the elements of myth and mysticism to the world he created is akin to a master painter's sparing choice of color or a master chef's discerning measure of just the right amount of spice. As a person who self-identifies as a member of "The More Swords, Magic and Dragons The Better" club, rest assured that the story progressively and selectively incorporates more fantasy as it develops. I promise that those of you seeking to scratch their fantasy itch will find themselves satisfied and practically begging for more by the end of the novel.As my unfortunate friends have now become aware, I could go on forever about this book. The dialogue is so witty and richly rewarding that at times I found myself jealous, as though it were unfair that other humans were capable of this level of verbal mastery. But these petty sentiments only led me to respect the nearly flawless and never lazy way in which Renshaw crafted a mind, a world and a story in perfect synchronicity. The story is exciting, satisfying, poignant, fun, touching, whimsical, mystical, and all too often capable of tugging on your heartstrings. I'd be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear in both laughter and sadness at varying points throughout this novel.The wonderful world and colorful characters that inhabit "Dawn of Wonder", and Aedan's interactions with both, challenge the notions of what it means to be family and what it means to find love and friendship. You'll find yourself remembering those times that just the very presence of your friends made you feel as though you could tackle anything life could throw your way. And even in those moments where you didn't and couldn't believe, they did the believing for you. They picked you up and carried you through adversity, and you found yourselves made closer by the experience. The impact of the bonds formed among our peers that are built through childhood friendship, support, squabble and mutual maturation on the type of man or woman we ultimately become cannot be understated.Long story short, five stars out of five, ten points out of ten, whatever you want to call it. I doubt I will find a more compelling and poignant mixture of storytelling and character development in my reading adventures, and in that sense by the end of "Dawn of Wonder" I found myself saddened, when I would ordinarily be excited, at the prospect of searching for another book to read. It is cliché to say I wished it would never end, but when an author achieves an impossible standard, sometimes clichés are all we have. After all, as the above review will show, there are both too many and not enough words for how much I enjoyed this novel. Lovers of the fantasy genre, I cannot recommend this book any more. Anyone interested in a daring exploration in to the themes of family dynamics, child psyche and loss of innocence, I say the same to you. And anyone just looking for a terrific story and an engrossing read, well, you know the drill. Just read it.

I don't write reviews generally, but this one deserves at least a small modicum of effort on my part. It deserves more, truth be told.I read a fair amount of fantasy, and like many readers I'm a fan of Martin, Rothfuss, Sanderson, Gaiman, Jordan, and the like. With Dawn of Wonder, Renshaw has perhaps leapfrogged to the front of that list for me. I'm not sure what to say about it that won't spoil it, but I'll try. It blends some of the best "young hero in training" aspects of the genre within an intriguing and believable world. Like game of thrones, there are glimpses of magical pasts and futures, but for the most part the world is mundane (in a good way) and familiar. Characters are lovable and despicable. Story pacing is patient without dragging. Writing style is accessible yet at times almost poetic. Bottom line: I can't wait for the next installment!

This will drown in the thousands of other reviews but I truly enjoyed this fantasy novel. After reading the whole thing it had the feel of a prequel book that went back and told every detail I wanted to know about the main character and supporting characters and what happened before they became heroes. Not to say that the next book could be read without this one but just pointing out that the dawn of wonder doesnt really happen until the end. The protagonist is still a boy, learning, failing, succeding and becoming the legend we are excited to read about.

This book is amazing. In order to get the most from this review, you need a base of what kinds of books I enjoy. I love Brandon Sanderson (The Stormlight Archive is my favorite series currently), The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, and The Gentleman Bastards by Scott Lynch to name a few.Now on to why you are here. This book has many elements that I have been looking for. Too many fantasy authors attribute an all powerful character to an interesting one. Within 50 pages, the author has the character besting 5 other trained individuals and by the end of the series, they might as well be facing the army by themselves. Another problem is creating intensity. How do you have down time when an army is invading your land or something troubling is happening? It is hard on the reader to stay in a consistent stressful time. More for the sake that we start rolling our eyes and say "Of COURSE that would happen now".This book does not have those issues. The reader ages with the main character. The initial thoughts from the character are a mixture of immature and insightful. This is the delicate balance of writing a 13 year old character. You have to write them including things that they would do at that age, yet still be interesting and believable. This book stays true to it's character as he ages. He has flaws and moments in the book where you laugh and cringe for him. For all those interested, the female characters in this book are well-written as well. They aren't in need of saving and aren't a guy in a woman's body.In short, this book has as realistic characters as a fantasy book can come with page turning intensity mixed with laugh out loud moments. I believe the author said it took 10 years to write this book (with a job on the side) and you can tell he put it to good use. I am so excited for the next 3 in the series.

This book does not give all the body landmarks, and joint by joint faulty alignment, nor strengthening and stretching exercises that are already know to correct some postural alignments. I gave 3 stars because the does have color picture of models that show some surface anatomy. This I like because you can see rather imagine where certain landmarks are. This book needs to be more in-depth and show more models with faulty alignment. If I was a novice then I would give it 5 stars.

This book is very well written. It is in understandable language and walks you through each step of the process with notes on things to look for and what your finds may indicate. The use of the pictures in the book help to clarify what you're looking for, although I wish they were labeled a bit more clearly to test your observations with what you are actually looking at. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in offering postural assessments to patients or clients.

As a personal trainer, I found this book very helpful in taking a closer look at some of the subtle postural imbalances and how they can affect training. The photos and explanations were clear and direct. This is a great reference.

Excellent reference for all movement specialists.

For obvious reasons i.e. "how did we get into this mess", the origins of finance have come under scrutiny. This book provides an excellent historical perspective. It is not a heavy mathematical read, but more of a historic narrative, written from the perspective of an expert market practitioner. It leaves off in the late 1990's and therefore does not include the more recent excesses, but is a very good overview of the key developments that is well worth reading, even if you disagree with the direction finance has taken, it is useful to know how it got there.

Samuelson, quoted by Berstein)Bernstein has written a fascinating pre-LTCM (pre 8/98) book on the history of econometrics and finance, beginning with the origins of the Cowles foundation as the consequence of Cowles' personal interest in the question: Are stock prices predictable? This book is all about heroes and heroic ideas, and Bernstein's heroes are Adam Smith, Batchelier, Cowles, Markowitz (and Roy), Sharpe, Arrow and Debreu, Samuelson, Fama, Tobin, Samuelson, Markowitz, Miller and Modigliani, Treynor, Samuelson, Osborne, Wells-Fargo Bank (McQuown, Vertin, Fouse and the origin of index funds), Ross, Black, Scholes, and Merton. The final heroes (see ch. 14, The Ultimate Invention) are the inventors of (synthetic) portfolio insurance (replication/synthetic options).This book consists largely of a pre-LTCM (pre-10/98) cheerleading for option-pricing mathematics based on lognormality, and corresponding synthetic portfolio insurance. Osborne and Mandelbrot are mentioned. The book is not error-free: e.g., Mandelbrot's ideas on stock prices are stated as being the origin of chaos theory (!), and Mandelbrot (of random fractals fame) is misportrayed as an `articulate proponent' of chaos theory! Another error (page 182): "..persistent forces are constantly driving the market toward (Modigliani-Miller) equilibrium." The evidence for the EMH is supposed to constitute the `proof' for this nonsense. So much for `proofs' in economics. So ingrained is the false, misleading and inapplicable notion of "equilibrium" in the minds of economists that it is hopeless to expect to educate them out of their own morass. Even Black, who was educated as a physicist as an undergrad, did no better:"When people are seeking profits, equilibrium will prevail." (F. Black, quoted by Bernstein)Among the interesting and entertaining stories that are told are: the displacement of Graham and Dodd's `value theory' by the EMH, the revolutionary role played by Wells Fargo Bank in using the `new finance math', and in creating index funds. The importance of the Miller-Modigliani `theorem, which `proved' that the (not-uniquely-defined) `value' of a corporation is independent of it's debt. Then, there is the wild-haired idea of `portfolio insurance', how to eat your cake and have it too (a free lunch, derived from the assumption that free lunches don't exist). No portfolio can be insured against extreme deviations, especially those that occurred in 10/87 and wiped out confidence in LOR (Leland-O'Brien-Rubinstein Associates). But this failure of finance theory produces no crisis for Bernstein, whose book is the history of heroes, not villains. His last chapter, which can be ignored by the reader without loss, is states his ideology: free market ueber Alles. Or: equilibrium will prevail, even without restoring forces ( I like to put it this way: there are no "springs" in the market). I did get something important from this book: the origin of America's spend-spend-spend ideology in the Modigliani-Miller `theorem'.If the optimal portfolio is not risky enough, borrow to finance it's purchase. This is a very nice book to read. If you are studying investments this will put everything you learn together for you in the time the ideas were developed; the people, the time and the thoughts that have developed some of the market theories to today.

I would critize the book in that although it recommends against portfolios of individual securities it does not warn the investor against professional portfolio managers.By way of example:Piscaqua Research in a study covering the period 1987-96 found that only 10 out of 145 major pension funds, or just seven percent, out performed a portfolio consisting of a simple 60%/40% mix of the S&P 500 index and the Lehman Bond index respectively.Or is it logical I ask for you to believe that you can predict which actively managed funds will out perform, or are you overconfident of your skills? If you are trying to find the great fund managers who will out perform in the future ask yourself: what am I going to do differently in terms of identifying the future winning fund managers, than did the pension plans and their advisors? And if you are not going to something different what logic is there in playing a game at which others with superior resources have consistently failed?If you a really serious in finding an investment technique that will provide you with reasonable return with less risk I suggest the following little book. I was really intrigued by the premise of this graphic memoir, and ordered it on the day it came out. It definitely didn't disappoint.Honor Girl, by Maggie Thrash, is the true story of a summer she spent at camp when she was fifteen. During this particular summer, she meets a female counselor and begins to have feelings for her. This is the first time she's had any feelings for a girl, and since Maggie's a camper, they have to be careful in their interactions. The result is a beautiful coming of age story about first love, the way you see the world at fifteen, summertime, friendship, and self discovery.I found the story very realistic and moving, and you could definitely tell it was a memoir. The way the girls acted, spoke and felt was very relatable and very real to those feelings you have as a teenager. There were a lot of fun moments too, several of which had me laughing out loud. It was a perfect balance with the angst and serious undertone. Once I started reading, this was pretty much all I could think about until I finished. It's one of those very immersive stories, where you really feel like you are outdoors at summer camp with the other girls. This is a book I would definitely love to reread every summer.The artwork was also beautiful. I love the cover of the book, and true to it, the colors inside don't disappoint. They look like watercolors, and there were several pages I flipped back to look at when I was done reading, particularly the full page illustrations and nighttime scenes. The people were a little sketchy styled for my taste, just because it was harder to read emotion in their facial expressions, but it didn't detract from the story at all.Overall, I definitely give this a 5/5 stars. It's a perfect summer read, and perfect for fans of contemperary graphic novels. Think along the lines of This One Summer. If you've ever questioned who you were, or struggled to figure out who you want to be, you will love this story.

I love graphic novels, especially memoirs, so this was almost guaranteed to be enjoyable. Maggie Thrash is new to me but I will be eagerly awaiting anything more from her in the future! Her artwork is brilliant and the storytelling was fantastic, actually making a serene all girl camp seem exciting. The 2000 era was post-collegiate for me and I've gotta say, the pop culture references here had me cracking up and thanking my lucky stars I went through my awkward teenage years during the early 1990s instead. This book in hardcover is very large and thick and lovely. I recommend this purchase wholeheartedly, and it's rare for me to spring for full price on a graphic novel (just sayin').

I don't know what I was expecting when I bought this. I was a bit skeptical of the art, which looked overly simplistic, and the story had the potential to be overwrought or preachy. I couldn't have been more wrong. First, the writing (plot, pacing and prose) is absolutely perfect. This book couldn't be more true-to-life, more touching or more engaging. You don't just feel like you are reading "about" Maggie --- the story is so engaging that you feel like you "are" Maggie. You feel what she feels and it takes you straight back to adolescence, whether you are male or female, gay or straight. The story is so engaging that you really yearn for resolution and a happy ending. Without wanting to say too much, the ending was perfect. Frustrating in some ways, but it packed an emotional punch that stays with you long after the book is over. (Which, by the way, is all too soon. I devoured this in a single sitting.) As a side note, it was refreshing and heart-warming to see how supportive Maggie's friends were, even in a setting that you would expect to promote the opposite reaction. As the father of two daughters, I have seen the opposite all too often, and I can only hope that they grow up to have friends like Maggie's.Second, the art is really perfect. It reinforces the feeling of "camp". You feel like it was drawn by 15 year-old Maggie (although a closer look reveals subtlety you would not expect of a 15 year-old), so it seems authentic and not artificial. In particular, the colors in the book are warm, soft and imbue the scenes with a glow that heightens the emotional reaction to the book.I only wish this weren't Maggie Thrash's first book. I would order anything else she has written on the spot if I could...Highly recommended!!!

I'm not gay, but I do like to read and watch any book or film that sounds interesting. I bought this as a gamble and fell in love with the main character. She didn't set out to but falls in love with her female counselor. Touching, funny, sad, wonderful slice of life that I think most people can relate to when they fall in love for the first time. Highly recommended for everyone!

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and honest. I'll definitely read more books by Maggie thrash.

Honor Girl was such a pleasant surprise. Even though I'm of an older generation than the author, I can certainly relate to those intense feelings of a first love and the angst of youth. I went to an all-girls school and remember well how we interacted - for good or ill. This book captures that as well. It was a pleasure to read, and I will be looking for more books by the talented up-and-coming Ms. Thrash. PS: The art work looks like a 15 year old drew it so it fits the book perfectly.

Awesome story and super prevalent. Also the book itself is gorgeous.
